What to expect on your first visit
At Hope Church, we are authentic. We are real. And we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We truly mean it when we say come as you are.
Worship Service
Worship begins at 9:30AM. We worship in-person in the sanctuary as well as live stream our services to our Facebook & YouTube Channel.
The style of worship blends traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs. You can expect a 10-15 minute message from the pastor or church leader, as well as moments of personal and collective prayer.
Holy Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of the month. In the United Methodist Church, we believe ALL are welcome to receive the bread and the cup. On average, the worship service is about 45 minutes.
Sunday School
Between our worship service and our Sunday school, we have time for Coffee & Connect. This is time of fellowship with free coffee and other sweet treats. Our Sunday School is for people of all ages and is offered directly following at around 10:45AM.
Church Culture
The congregation at Hope imbues a relaxed atmosphere. We care for one another which extends to those who are new. First time guests often remark how friendly everyone is and how comfortable they feel from the first moment they arrive at Hope.
We are a casual church. A few of our attendants enjoy dressing up for church. The majority of us dress more casually. We want everyone to be comfortable and feel like they can show up as they are.

As you drive along the Carlisle Pike, you will see the historic stone Salem Chapel and a driveway beside it. Pull into the driveway and park anywhere in the parking lot behind or beside the stone Chapel. The larger modern looking building adjacent to the parking lot is where you’ll find our main sanctuary where Sunday morning worship services are held. Please enter by way of the white screened porch you can see from the parking lot. Just inside the red double doors, you’ll find a Welcome Table and someone to greet you!

This may be the best part about Hope Church. We recognize it can be intimidating to come to church for the first time ever or after a very long period of time. Whether you have any previous experience with church or not, you will feel comfortable at Hope Church. If you do not feel comfortable, we are curious to know why. Simply come as you are. We will do our best to help you feel like you belong as a part of God’s family of which you already are! We look forward to meeting you! Please take comfort to know that you are welcome here!
